How to clean your bathroom using a natural product as vinegar

Your kitchen is potentially the most popular room in your home for germs. But bathrooms can also harbor an abundance of harmful bacteria and germs, clinging to towels, taps, door handles and toilet bowls.

Here are a few ideas that will help you to keep your bathroom healthy and clean.

Toothbrushes

We tend to put all of our family toothbrushes together in a beaker above the sink, which is not a good idea. You should store all toothbrushes safely apart and well away from toilets and sinks where they can be splashed. It’s a good idea to change your toothbrush around every three or four months.

Towels

Ideally family member should have their own towels. This reduces the chance that viruses will be passed from one person to another. Its also a good idea to identify your towels for bath and hand use and be certain that your family know which is which.

Soap

Scientific studies have shown that dispensers of liquid soap are far more hygienic than bars of soap. A liquid soap dispenser can help to encourage children to wash their hands when they visit the bathroom. Also, its a good idea to put liquid soap dispenser in any shared bathrooms that can be used by non-family members.

Flushing the Toilet

Make sure that your family flush the toilet with the lid down on the toilet seat. The flushing action causes small polluted water particles from the toilet to be thrown into the air, landing on surrounding surfaces, taps, towels and handles. Keeping the lid down will reduce this considerably. Why not invest in novelty toilet seat that your family will want to close every time they use it.

Disinfect and Clean

You should clean and bleach your toilet bowl at least twice a week. Toilets can harbor some very nasty bugs so its a good idea to keep your toilet bowl as clean as possible. Be aware that germs will grow in shower heads and taps if they have not been run for a while so it’s a good idea to let them run hot for a while to clean them out. Change your towels as often as possible and be certain to clean all surfaces and handles often.

The best way to ventilate a bathroom and prevent household mold from growing is with fresh air through a window or door. If this is not possible, then the next best thing would be an exhaust fan or ventilator or a dehumidifier. If mold is already present in the home, particularly toxic black mold, bleach and ventilation is not enough on its own to remove it.
